Westcast

Wetcast, as the name suggests, is a method of producing stone using specific aggregates, sand and cement mixed to a consistency and poured into purpose made moulds. It is then vibrated to remove excess air pockets and left to cure. Twenty four hours later it is then demoulded and a process of Acid Washing takes place to remove the surface laitence and expose a fine aggregate finish. The Wetcast method produces high strength and, with appropriate reinforcement, it can be used in structural situations, as the photographs on this page demonstrate.
